Donnie Darko - For Whom The Bell Tolls

I,ve been sat here in front of my PC listening to this track contemplating shit, emotional shit to be exact. and as I listened I find that this lends itself very well to that deep inner welled up emotion that hath no name but that fills me and almost all of us with a sudden sadness, like when you realize that no matter now hard you try to can never bring back loved ones who have passed on,

fuck man Imma gettin all emotional and shit…..

You know … I like this movie for the little moments like this

When I was little and watched Fantasia over and over and over.I always thought this one out of all the other was the most beautiful… I remember wanting to look like her so bad. <3

This movie (and the music) is my childhood.

Hunchback of Notre Dame

I never saw this movie when it came out 15 years ago. I don’t remember why, just a feeling of dis-interest.

Anyway I got a craving to see it last night because I saw of all things a tumblr post on my dash talking about cosplaying Esmeralda.

I love the soundtrack - listening to it on Spotify. And I loved the themes of justice, religion, lust etc.

But what I hated was the ending. Because clearly Quasimodo is so deformed he can’t have the girl. Obviously. I don’t know why I had such a knee-jerk reaction but I did not like the ending. Everyone’s happy but Quasi can’t get the girl *sigh*

(And I know the Disney movie differs a lot from the source material, Victor Hugo’s book - but isn’t that the case with most Disney movies?)
